Another one bites the dust....

More and more JFK guys are turning to the dark side muhahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha.... ok, I am done. Meet Brandon, an 8th grader at JFKMS. A pretty smart kid, accepted this year into the IB program, and currently just finished his last performance as a member of the JFK drama club. Here is his Twilight story:

Ok, so the new sensation is Twilight. I mean seriously you can't go three steps in my school without seeing someone with one of the books. So, one day I just decided to read it! My sister had already read them and told me about the story-line. I got interested when she mentioned vampires and werewolves. Right now, I am finishing New Moon and looking forward to Eclipse and Breaking Dawn.

As you may know I've been on Team Edward and Team Jacob before, but now I am just saying "screw it!" I'm starting a new group....Anti-Bella. Seriously, she's all needy and clingy. I understand she's in love but come on! Bella is so EMO!!!! I realize that dudes are pretty romantically unstable too, but she is just annoying! All this being said, I HIGHLY enjoy the series so far....but long live "Team Anti-Bella."

How much of this can we take seriously, I am not sure. But Brandon does raise an interesting point-- Is Bella too involved with the men in her life? Is her behavior normal for a teenage girl in love, or does it go beyond that? Let us and Brandon know what you think. Also, check back tomorrow as we reveal our 4th pick for best Twilight sites....this post should give you a clue!!!!

Hmmm... this is an interesting question. I know a lot of girls who act Bella-ish a lot, but usually their relationships fizzle out. I think Bella does act more... Dazzled... than most teenage girls would in normal teenage relationships, but you have to think about one simple difference-
Edward is a vampire, duh! He Dazzles her! There is something way more than just hormones going on there. But hey, if I found an Edward, I would probably be just as clingy. The thing is that Edward doesn't mind. He loves her just as much and he's just as clingy, if not over-controlling. He's trying to look out for her safety, and she's trying to not go back to zombie-bella mode. The same goes for Jacob, just subtract vampire and add werewolf.

Hey broadway katie,
we have enjoyed all of your comments and were wondering if you would submit your story for this week's fan spotlight. If so, e-mail me at tiffshakes@yahoo.com

I can actually understand why Bella would be "clingy." The thing is, Bella acts way too mature for her age and has always been the responsible one. She sent herself to Folks, even though she absolutely HATED it. Until Edward came along, everything has changed for her. It's almost as if her life had more MEANING than it did before, because Edward and Jacob are the only things that make her happy. And if something makes you feel that way, you would kind of... start to get addicted to it, you know? Give the girl a break. When I reread Twilight for the third time, I changed my opinion on Bella and understood her 'unusualness.'

Ok, I figured a bunch of girls would be all like "Oh, youre so mean for thinking bad of Bella" And guess what? I'm right! But I don't care the girls needs to get over it! She's allways complaining about her emotional hole. So what!? My girlfriend moved away and we had to brake up, too Granted, I was a freakin mess but still! Ive gotten over it! Poor Jacob is out there protecting her and she doesnt tell him that she doesnt love him! Instead, she trys to convince herself that she does until Edward goes to Italy and she's like "Oh No!" shoves Jacob(whos hurt emotionally thats hes being ditched) then she basically says "Hey, Jacob, its been fun, me using you and all, but I got to go to Italy now to save a vampire. Oh and by the way protect Charlie, would ya?" I would phase right there and eat her!

Bella acts like a person who is head over heels in LOVE for the very first time. I think in order to understand Bella, one has to have a "TRUE" love. Not a flirtatious fling or a 6th grade first love but a "TRUE" love. Once a person experiences that, only then can one understand why Bella does the things she does. Bella has never found someone as intriguing as Edward before. She is completely smitten and would rather die than live without him. At the same time she thinks it's too good to be true. When he leaves her, it's something she ALWAYS knew would happen. She knew she wasn't worthy of his love and that's why she doesn't argue with him in the woods. When Jacob comes along, she feels like he is there to save her from her abysmal existance without Edward. As the months go by, she starts to realize that she needs to let go of Edward because he is not in love with her. Then she starts to see Jacob differently. She sees him as someone she can love. . . maybe not be IN LOVE with but she can love him. Edward will ALWAYS be her #1 but Jacob can be #2 and possibly fill something that is missing. That's the conclusion she comes to when the whole Italy thing happens. Then she finds out that Edward left for her safety and not because he didn't love her. That changes EVERYTHING. Now, her #1 is back and does want her and does love her. Who would you choose. . . your #1 choice or #2? Jacob knows that Bella likes him but also knows that he will NEVER fill the space that Edward left. So as much as you want to blame Bella, you have to see that Jacob knows what he's doing and knows that Bella may never love him. Bella tells him flat out that she can't love him the way he loves her and he still decides to persue her. He decides to take a chance and it doesn't work the way he hoped.

Yo Phinecia thats probably what Breakin Dawn is about! And were not talking about Edwared and Jacob were talking about Bella! Someone HAS to freakin agree with me...come on! Anybody?

I agree with you, somewhat.
Bella in Twilight was a great, she was headstrong, opinionated, and could have stood on her (clumsy) two feet.
BUT it was New Moon that broke all that down. Edward leaves her and her I guess you can call her "security blanket" got taken away(plus it was her love that just left her). You can't help but just feel bad. I mean come on, what happens if you where MADLY in love with someone and they just say to you that they don't want you? that stings.~
I'm not defending Bella (b/c she can get whiny) but I am not putting her actions down either.

Addiction is a powerful thing...you are exactly my brand of heroin...is mentioned in the book. Their love is an addiction. Remove Edward from the equation (new moon) and your going to get serious withdrawels. It does not matter what the substance you are addicted to. Detox is a horrible awful painful thing for any addict to go through. More or less Bella is addicted to Edward. He dazzles her it makes sense her reaction to him being gone and being back.

Jacob was temporary relief, to her addiction. Not the same high, but close enough. When the real thing came back of course she would rather go for that.

I do not know if this helps of really answers your question. But I started and got on a roll....From what I have seen and experienced it is normal for those in love. Bonafide love, not that of your average teen 6 month romance. I believe at times it is a tough pill to swallow for some, but they have the love most people dream about and rarely find.

Brandon, I was just trying to enlighten you as to why Bella is so whiny in New Moon. I agree she is whiny but there is a VERY good reason she is that way. I think MISS V explained it better than I did though.

Oh and AICHICK just says that because she wants Edward all to herself. . . LOL!

Eek...another older post I find the urge to comment on. ._.;

You know...I've heard comments to this effect before, but I've never given them much thought.

But, now that I am -- don't you think that's sort of a point to the second book? Bella seems all right as Twilight goes on -- a little clingy, yeah, but mostly when Edward's getting into dangerous stuff (ie, DUDE let's go hunt down this dangerous tracker who WON'T REST till he KILLS me and you!). In New Moon, however, we realize just how bad she /is/ without Edward around her. Like Miss V said -- she's addicted to him. She doesn't think she can live without him -- even as she begins to realize otherwise, it's taking her a long time to heal, and there's a part of her emotionally that's not going to feel /right/ until Edward returns. I think, given what she's going through, a little whininess is to be expected.

Still -- yeah, I do kind of agree with you, Brandon. Bella's behavior doesn't annoy me, not really, but New Moon is my least favorite of the three because it's so...depressing. And minus Edward, haha, but it was kind of a hard read when three-quarters of the thing is drenched with Bella's misery. (Though it makes Edward's return all the sweeter...but hey, this is a girl talking, you gotta excuse a bit of romantic squealing now and again.)
